I found this this weekend after browsing some other skateboarding collecting site and forum. I don't know if anyone will be as down...but I need to tell SOMEONE because it's eating me up inside!!! www.skateandannoy.com . My favorite feature is his monthly ebay watch, mainly because you get to check out some rare vintage gear (and what people are willing to pay) and the fact that he's pretty damn funny.

electricsnow, I used to have that Neil Blender Coffee Break that he has on the ebay watch. I'm so glad my mom sold that at a garage sale for probably about 2 bucks. Sigh.... _________________ www.devotid.com |

yeah, that's definitely been a popular board over the years. I remember a skate shop in madison had one of those (skated) on display. Pretty much any neal blender has popular. I still have mine...it's been skated, and I still have my billabong sticker on there from when our skatepark opened in like 1990 (it has since been destroyed). but it's nice to have those relics...with that said, I really can't get rid of any of my boards. Even my broken wakeskate has found a home and has been given the description of "modern decor."
it's so hard to hang in the skate market, unless you have some serious $$. I'm finding that the wakeboards and wakeskates tend to mean more to me, unless there's a random board that I'd like (like pretty much any peter line snowboard). _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

| Awesome site dude. I just spent about 2 hours going through the Ebay watch thingy. Major trip down memory lane for me, even though they ragged on the old Stabb shape I used to have. I guess it was kinda toolboxish. I was hoping to see more early 90's Plan B decks, but I guess since they broke so often I bought a new one every week, there ain't gonna be too many up for grabs. |

ha, jesse, that's crazy that you check that site out (and for so long at that). I guess i never expected anyone on here to be into it like that. Awesome!
Yeah, that guy kind of disses some things I don't agree with (like the gonz stuff), but it's just one dude with an opinion. Ultimately, he cracks me up and it's seriously a blast to look at that stuff.
I don't know who all is into skateboards, the artwork and the history, but sean cliver has a book called "disposable" that's amazing. I guess the paperback version is extremely hard to come by and at this point the book is "out of print." but I guess he's found another publisher and it will be going back to print soon.
And at the moment, he's working on a new book that will deal with collecting skateboards.
Anyway, the hardcover version of disposable is sick. it's limited to like 1000 copies and if you buy it from his wife's site, you can get a personal inscription or something. I asked for a quick sketch and he drew the rag doll face from ray barbee's graphic lineage with powell.
I've always been meaning to review that book for the site, even though this is a "wakeskating' site. But there are some collectors (like, oh, five;) and a number of dudes skate. Plus, it's just super interesting to look at. _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

electricsnow, that is the raddest book. Did you ever check out the Wes Humpston (Dogtown Skates co-founder/Artist) art book I recommended to you like way back? I know it only deals with one dude, but its the guy that came up with graphics on boards in first place. Anyways its real RAD! _________________

jesse, I didn't get that book because I'm a failure! But I really do want it because wes and his history is pretty interesting. Rest assured, I will not let you down! _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

The book is "Bulldog's Art" and you can get it at www.bulldogskates.com or www.concretewavemagazine.com/. Keep in mind you can get Wes' john Hancock on it when you order from his site.
Also one thing I have loved on SkateandAnnoy over the years is the wacky products section, you see some true gems and The annoying kid of the month. _________________
