What does everyone think is the minimum for a wakeskate comp. Say you have a very small budget and it was a one time comp to see how the turn out is.
1) Riders - how much should entry fee be?
2) Sponsors - who and how much finacially do they contribute (ex. pro tour)
3) Location - where should the first one be held? How much does it cost to hold a comp at the Altamonte Springs (FL) location or the OWC lake? What about holding it at the projects?
4) WWSA - isnt this something the WWSA should hold? _________________ .:Wake UP Films:.

Oh, I never heard anything with the WWSA. Maybe they should get theur own forum to talk about comps and such; also to announce the schedule for the comps and other related info...I guess thats what the "Events" forum is for though. _________________ .:Wake UP Films:.

Don't forget you'll have an insurance issue to get around, but I don't know too much about that so maybe someone could go into depth on how you could work that out. I don't know if signing waivers is enough or not... _________________ *The opinions expressed are on my behalf and not those of wakeskating.com* |

You can find out how to become sanctioned by the WWA. That will also cover your insurance.

I think the biggest cost is not in insurance but in promotion and marketing. (ex. super time slots) Events like this are all about location. Please due keep in mind this sports is like any, business. The projects would be tight but could it take 10,000 people? Who knows how to get there?Cranes Roost is nice but too far North of Orlando. I like the idea of it at Odub just because of the facilites and location alone. Locations and insurance really cost nothing. You want sponsors to put up the promotional and marketing cost. The rest of the event cost can be covered by entry fees. So any money taken to get in, park, food, and merchandise and all be put in the bank. _________________ I'm Chief Pimpa Ho. | well all of us skaters should enter and try and make the first stop.. all we have to do is go party with all the top skaters the night before and get them really smashed.. and were all in. |
