Cary.K and I went out riding yesterday. There are two heated lakes 45 mins from my house. The coal factories pump clean hot water back into the lake....sick!!
You could ride fine with shorts and a heater shirt (if you wanted to), but I guess Cary wanted to stay extra warm with a full suit.
78 degree water in December is dope!

Well...I have noticed my penis getting larger lately and my skin does have a healthy green glow, so maybe it is a nuclear power site?????
But for serious...it is coal burning factory and the water is super clean.
Chad...Cary is very much a guy.

You guys are all cornholes.
Yesterday while talking to my parents, I found out our bay at home is already frozen.
Why can't there public heated lakes in ontario? That would be nice

| Chris Barcellos, hey i have a nice wetsuit but its just soooooo cold once you get out the water and have to sit in the boat... so i was thinking about investing in day suit.... Is it worth the many? And whats it like riding in one? Does it constrict your movement and shizzle???

drysuits are worth every penny. you can wear clothes inside of them without worrying about getting wet, then when youre done riding you take off the drysuit and youre dry!

Iamjesse, dry suits are worth the money. the oneill boost is about 375 i think. If you want to ride cold water in the winter, its worth it. and if you ride with a friend who is about your size you can split the cost and share it. It does take some getting used to being choked while you ride, but once you're past that its great. You will get some water inside of the suit, sometimes i even get soaked from certain falls, but the nice thing is that you're so warm you dont even feel the cold water. Just make sure you have dry clothes on the boat. You wear some sweats for pants and a shirt with a sweatshirt on top and then your warm inside the suit. For feet you need the oneill 3mm socks, and maybe some thin oneill gloves, and a oneill surf hat. once you're all coverd up you can ride in pretty much any condition. I've seen pics of guys in icy water--they use dishwashing gloves to keep their hands dry. thats nuts.

Well the 78* water was only at the small spot where the hot water from the plant flows into the main lake. The wind was kicking so bad there that it was whitecapping. We went to the opposite (cold) end of the lake and the water was 56-58, so I wore the full suit. Plus the air was not even 50* this day. I can stand cold water better than I can stand cold air. I was happy in the full suit. We rode two weeks ago in my town and the water was 48, so I had to break out the drysuit.

yea i can deal with the water, its just the air when ever i get back on the boat thats a killer. But you said you still get some water in the suit? Would this work... haveing like thermals then wetsuit and the dry suit? Just cause the thermals would keep you warm, then the wetsuit would help but wouldnt matter if it go a lil wet and then the dry suit to keep you dry in the water.... and IN THE BOAT....
Or i think i might just starting bringing judges of warm water... and dumping them in my wetsuit after i get done riding to keep me warm on the boat...
Or any ideas on how to stay warm on the boat?
