(This is the long version of my story, if you want the short version go to the ***)

Saturday morning i left for southdakota to go to the annual "Spader Campout" (yes my last name is spader). As most of you know my uncle is a boat salesman and he has some pretty nice fishing boats. I brought my wakeskate and i was getting all stoked thinking i would finally get to ride, but when i showed up at the camp i found out no one had a boat. I about shat my heart out of my backside.

It was rainning really hard. I was walking around and i began to notice that the water was about 1 inch above the grass in some spots. I thought what the hell i might as well try it. So i got my skate and set it infront of a puddle and i ran and jumped onto it and to my surprise i slid a long ways. After a wile i started doing shuvs, but there wasn't enough water to ollie. I ALMOST landed a 360 shuv about 5 times. Like 15 people watched me and were asking me what i was riding. One dude thought it was really cool and some old lady even took a picture of me.

***It rained hard at this camp and the water was about 1 inch above the grass in some areas. I set my skate on the edge of a wet spot, ran, and jumped onto it. I slid farther than most would expect. I pulled many shuvits, there wasn't enough water to ollie, and i ALMOST HAD THE 360 shuv.

Sorry i didn't get footage of it. I was gonna bring the video cam but my dad made me put it back in the house right before we left for the camp because he was pist off at me. I am gonna try flooding our yard with the hose and get some footage at that time. Hopefully.

I don't get how this worked? Whenever i run and jump on my board in the water, i go about 2 feet then sink. I can't imagine you could get enough to speed to run, jump on your board, and then shuvit? Or were you just sliding on the grass?

The water isn't anymore than 3 inches deep. I will hike down the road tomoro and set up my camera and show you guys what i am talking about. I THINK i saw some grassy areas that would be perfect for this but it was dark out when we were coming back. I think me being able to glide so far has something to do with the shape of my skate, if it rides in the water like it does in the grass HOLY shizzle I WILL LAND 360 shuvs MY FIRST DAY OUT! And i am only like 140 lbs, i know alot of you are in the 200's so that might be a reason for my glidyness also. Smash

OOOHHH and i forgot to mention, southdakot has a SHAT LOAD of awesome places for ditchskating. Every where i looked i was drooling because i wanted to skate them so bad.

Well, my parents just checked the answer machine messages. My friends called me up while i was gone and said they were goin wakeboarding. Seriosly, i think there is some unnatural force trying to keep me from wakeskating.

do you guys mean good skimboarding or bad skimboarding?...bad=those wood skimboards at like alvins island (some beach store) that you skim on the foil of the water when the wave comes in...or good=like skimnboards which resemble mini surfboards where you ride into the water (deeper) and go up int othe wave and serf/skim it back in and whatenot...

just wanderign

i skim a zap pro and i can do shuvs to indy...and all the liners, bigspins, wraps, etc. i feel the way i skate is about 50% skim style. imo, skimboarding will soon have a large effect on wakeskating.
